Experience something truly unique to the Okanagan Valley!
The Kettle Valley Steam Railway operates on the only preserved section of the historic Kettle Valley Railway line, built during 1910-1915.
Highlights include the sights and sounds of the 3716 – a 100 year old steam locomotive, scenic views of Summerland’s rural beauty, live music and historical commentary during the 90 minute ride.
This section runs from Faulder to Trout Creek, running through West Summerland and the Prairie Valley railway station.
The line runs through beautiful vistas, orchards, vineyards, and over the 238-foot tall (73 m) Trout Creek Trestle.
Trains are operated from Spring through Fall each year and include special events such as the “Great Train Robbery” and “Christmas Express.”
Views spectacular, train robbery fantastic, great volunteer actors. Great food at the BBQ.
All round a must see!

Steam Locomotive: History: The first full-scale working railway steam locomotive was built in the United Kingdom on 21 February 1804. After 100 years they got this engine to Canada ( Via Ship and assembled here). Shot this video in Summerland.
Our kids loved it and so did we. We did this like 9 years back. The old man played jingle bells for Sanju in summer
Thanks for the lovely share Sridar …reminded of the locomotive in Christ Church NZ where the driver and conductor cracked jokes and gave country music with Guitar and accordion ..
